Pam Kelley is a North Carolina-based journalist and the author of Money Rock: A Family's Story of Cocaine, Race, and Ambition in the New South, a 2023 North Carolina Reads Book Club Selection. 

Her awards include honors from the National Press Club, National Education Writers Association and the Society for Features Journalism. As a longtime reporter forThe Charlotte Observer, she contributed to a subprime mortgage exposé that was a 2008 finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service.
